23 September 2010
Got home today to find the skip almost filled already. Here are some photos of how things are looking after today's round of demolition.

22 September 2010
The airconditioning man came today to take our old one out of the wall. I stayed to introduce him to Banjo hoping that it would be fine to leave Banj in the yard but as soon as I headed out of the driveway he charged the poor guy (no teeth, just scary barking). Banjo spent the day in the bathroom :( One the part of the house they are not working on is secured I suspect he will be staying there no matter how well he seems to get on with the builders! I suspect when we are away he becomes more protective than when we are here... We also got a big red skip in the front yard today and demolition is supposed to start in earnest tomorrow. Yay!

21 September 2010
No sight of builders today... it is still raining... but the sparky came and cleared out all the old lights and power fixtures so demolition can start later in the week. I have to say I was impressed by how well mannered and tidy the electrician was - the place was cleaner after he left than when he arrived :)

They really are here
Well the builders arrived at 7am this morning and of course, it's raining today! No scaffolding yet (would have been dangerously wet) but they have started stripping architraves and door frames out of the lounge room and have started to board up the openings between kitchen/dining room and lounge. I will be sitting in a very dark, very cramped little substitute lounge room by the end of tomorrow! Here are some photos of the snake I saw a few weeks ago and then some evidence that builders are on site :)

Action at last
Scaffolding has arrived! Finally something is happening. Sounds like we will have builders on site sometime next week (at last!) Lucky we are patient people :)

Garden makeover
Mum and dad came down a couple of weekends ago to help me tidy up the front garden. There were so many weeds and overgrown shrubs that the place was starting to look unoccupied! Thanks to a mountain of mulch and heaps of weeding things are looking much better and should be easier to look after. Thanks mum and dad!
Banjo supervising!

Floods in East Timor
There was heavy rain and some flooding in East Timor a few weeks ago (I think it was the 8 July). Geoff has sent some photos.
